Case studies
While every workplace is unique, management frequently exhibits common tactics and strategies across their efforts to suppress worker power and autonomy. These stories shared by fellow worker organizers are intended to highlight how management has tried to bring automation and AI technology into other workplaces and how workers have successfully resisted these attempts.
Each case study focuses on a specific feature of a broader campaign: member education, the AI technology clause in the bargaining agreement, creation and use of worker-led technology committees, and cultivating a fighting union member base. Key member leaders from these campaigns shared their insights and learnings so other worker organizers may find success in their own efforts, as well as learn from some of the obstacles they faced on the way.
These case studies are not intended to provide explicit instructions on how to implement a successful resistance. Instead, they should inspire and inform the fights emerging in your own workplace.
As workers continue to fight back against management’s harmful deployment of AI technology, we will also keep sharing their stories. Sign up for updates to get the latest case study as they are released.
